When you notice any gas appliance is not working correctly the first thing to check is the pilot light. Usually if the pilot light wont light on your gas pool heater a common causes can be low gas pressure, air supply is not sufficient or the gas pool heater unit is not venting correctly.
If you are unsure how to check these possible causes or you have checked and found no visible signs call us on 0484 231 398 to book in a service / repair.
Once again as in the previous faq, check that the pilot light is lit first.
Then make sure your gas pool heater is switched on and the gas supply into the unit is set to the on position.
If both of these steps are correct then proceed too make sure that the thermostat is set to a temperature higher than the current pool water temperature. (This happens more than you think..)
In a combustion chamber, a gas heater burns either natural gas or liquid propane. The combustion chamber is lined with copper coils that contain pool water. Swimming pool water runs through these copper coils as the gas burns, returning warm to the pool. Through a flue, the gas-burning exhaust leaves the chamber. The temperature of the air has no bearing on the operation of a gas heater. It will heat your pool more efficiently in colder climates than a heat pump, less efficient in colder temperatures.
A gas pool heater also has the advantage of heating your pool more quickly than a heat pump, making it ideal for pool owners who require on-demand heat in Melbourne.
